Welcome to 2008!
I hope it's a great year for everyone.
Things are going well here in Brantford. The girls had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. Jessica left yesturday to head back to the states. Emma was devistated. She cried and cried. She really loved having her Aunt Jessica here. Jessica was always willing to play a game or play with Barbies. Jessica was even nice enough to let Emma play on her computer. We are all going to miss her and we hope she can come back soon.
New Years Eve started off with a bang for us. Around 6:00pm Gerben asked me what the funny noise was that we were hearing. We have the window in the kitchen open because we were making goodies and I assumed the noise was outside. Well, it wasn't. Our furnace died! The funny noise was the main motor seizing up. Needless to say, we were not calling to have it fixed right away because it was cost us a fortune for a service call on the holiday. Thanks to the invention of space heaters and gas fireplaces we have managed to keep the house deciently warm. The guy came yesturday to look at the furnace but unfortunetly the motor had to be ordered so it's still not fixed. Hopefully it will be today or tomorrow. What a way to finish off the holidays. (Getting hit with a $500.00 repair bill for the furnace!) Ouch!
I hope everyone else had a fabulous holiday. We certainly did. I am now looking forward to getting some normalcy back to our house because in only 14 days we will be celebrating Natalia's 2nd birthday!

Do you actually have "real" heat now?
Ours has been in and running for a couple days now and thank god. It was so so cold! We are very lucky that our pipes didn't burst.
Sounds like we both had a great start to the new year.
$11.99 a month sure saves a ton of money when something goes wrong.
