Just a few new scrapbook layouts

I am so addicted to doing digital scrapbooking. It's mess free and for the most part it's also cost free. What more could you want? Thank goodness for a huge external hard drive to hold all my data.

Their uncles would be proud!

Can you believe it? My girls, outside, in the cold, playing hockey on a pond! My brothers would be proud! We were invited to Yvonne and Andy's for a day a fun this weekend and of course we went. They just happened to have a pair of skates that we could borrow for Emma and she was actually excited about going! She did awesome! It only took her about 5 minutes and she comfortable moving around on her own. It was so great to see after our horrible first experience. She loved every minute of it and before too long she was picking up a hockey stick! Even Natalia was in on the action. She was quick to grab a stick and start hitting the ball around the ice. Our next step will be to put skates on her. She's a fearless little critter so I am sure she will love it!

We had so much fun playing on the ice and the hills around the farm. The kids played awesome together and we couldn't have asked for a better day.

Emma keeps asking about going skating again and now that we have skates we will definetly be taking her!

All Dressed up...

Only to get to dance and find out it was cancelled! Poor Emma, she has been so excited about going back to dance after almost a month off and then when we get there the doors are locked and the lights are off. Somebody forgot to call us and 3 other families to tell us that dance was cancelled! We felt really bad for Emma. I must admit that she took it like a trooper. I thought for sure we would be dealing with a major meltdown but she didn't. She just kept asking why Cindy didn't come to dance.

I was so disappointed. Emma finally let me put her hair up and I even put cute bows in her pigtails. She looked adorable and I really wanted to show her off. Luckily, I did manage to get her to let me take her photo and here are some of the results.

Happy 2nd Birthday Natalia!

Today is the day! Natalia is officially 2 years old. It's hard to believe but it's the truth.

Natalia continues to talk up a storm. She is learning new words by the day. Yesturday, Gerben and I met with a man at Flamingo. Well, Natalia was with us and in the middle of the conversation he said, "Crap!" Guess what the only work Natalia repeated was? Yep, it was "Crap!" The poor guys was horrified. All I could do was laugh. I thought it was pretty funny.

Last night we decorated the house with balloons and streamers for her. We enjoy keeping this tradition because it shows the kids that today is a special day and besides...what kid doesn't love a house full of balloons? Natalia will get her gifts from us tonight along with cupcakes and a special dinner but she is also having a small party on Sunday to celebrate. I can't wait for that,I know she will love it.

Today I thought I would share a few of my favourite pics of Natalia from the last 2 years. I hope you enjoy them! I know I do.

3 more days!

Just 3 more days and my baby turns 2! I can't believe how much she is changing lately. Her vocabulary is expanding by the minute and she loves to sing. The funniest thing about Natalia right now is that if you ask her to do something she immediately says, "Why?" in the most demanding way. It makes us giggle every time she does it. It totally makes her seem like a 4 year old not a 2 year old. She is also madly in love with Emma's Barbies. She thinks it's totally unfair that she doesn't have any of her own. While Emma has been at school today, Natalia had dragged Emma's princess Barbie all over the house. She loves the way it sings and she loves to sing along with it. I have included 2 videos with this post. One is of Natalia singing with Barbie and the other is of her counting to 10. My baby is growing up way to fast!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2008!

I hope it's a great year for everyone.

Things are going well here in Brantford. The girls had a fabulous Christmas and New Year. Jessica left yesturday to head back to the states. Emma was devistated. She cried and cried. She really loved having her Aunt Jessica here. Jessica was always willing to play a game or play with Barbies. Jessica was even nice enough to let Emma play on her computer. We are all going to miss her and we hope she can come back soon.

New Years Eve started off with a bang for us. Around 6:00pm Gerben asked me what the funny noise was that we were hearing. We have the window in the kitchen open because we were making goodies and I assumed the noise was outside. Well, it wasn't. Our furnace died! The funny noise was the main motor seizing up. Needless to say, we were not calling to have it fixed right away because it was cost us a fortune for a service call on the holiday. Thanks to the invention of space heaters and gas fireplaces we have managed to keep the house deciently warm. The guy came yesturday to look at the furnace but unfortunetly the motor had to be ordered so it's still not fixed. Hopefully it will be today or tomorrow. What a way to finish off the holidays. (Getting hit with a $500.00 repair bill for the furnace!) Ouch!

I hope everyone else had a fabulous holiday. We certainly did. I am now looking forward to getting some normalcy back to our house because in only 14 days we will be celebrating Natalia's 2nd birthday!
