Oh, the things they do for money...

Today was a crazy day for the weather. It was warm then cold, calm then windy, sunny then rainy. It literally did these weather flips all day. At one point in time the rain was coming down in sheets. It was insane. Gerben and the girls were standing on the front porch watching it when Gerben got the bright idea to bribe Emma into running out into the rain for a dollar. Emma is all about money right now, so she took him up on the offer.

Then he offered her more money if she would stand out in the rain for 10 seconds, so once again she took him up on the offer. This girl is itching for more money. After a few trips out into the rain, to earn more money, she discovered the puddles.

And as always around here, one can't have all the fun. Pretty soon, Natalia was in on the action.

Although, I am pretty sure that she didn't realize the consequences because she wasn't thrilled when she realized she was soaked.

After Emma had filled her shoes with yucky, muddy water it was back out to the puddles to try this goofiness barefoot.

First, she takes a few tentative steps near the puddles

Then we have to stand in the puddle and decide if we are brave enough to actually jump in it with no shoes on.

And finally, we jump!

And look, these dirty little feet survived! With nail polish still intact! :)

And a smile to prove that she actually had fun and managed to wiggle $1.75 out of a very surprised Daddy, in the process.

Hmm, come to think of it, we probably should have made sure she had a bath before she went to bed tonight. Oops!

Spent some time with the camera today

I must confess, I hate gardening! I have no use for it. I wish my entire yard was grass. It's so easy to take care of and I don't have to worry about knowing the difference between a weed and a plant. But, that being said, I have a magnolia tree in my yard and I LOVE it. I love the flowers that it produces in the spring and I love that it's the best climbing tree on our entire property. I would happy take round up to the majority of my yard but my magnolia tree is sacred ground.

I think this is my favourite photo of Natalia that I have taken in the last little while. She looks so innocent. Which is surprising given the massive fit she threw this morning over the crust on her bread.

Look at my munchkin in amongst the fallen magnolia leaves. Isn't she cute!

I don't have any idea what this tree is but it's cool. I wish I had it in my yard because it's so pretty.

Now, most people assume the because my husband works in the flower bulb industry that I must have the most beautiful gardens. Well, I assure you, I don't! My "beautiful" yard is filled with millions and millions of these lovely "flowers."

Long time, no post!

Sorry guys it's been a while. But, I promise it's all good. I have been busy working on a new project. It has been totally monopolizing my time but so far it's been well worth it. You can see my newest project here...

A few weekends ago, Gerben and I packed up the kids and drove to Grand Rapids Michigan for a FABULOUS photography seminar. It was so worth the trip and I learned so much that I was completely overwhelmed. I think it took an entire day for me to absorb all the information. It says alot about a seminar when it's 5.5 hours long and it felt like I was there for an hour. My attention never waivered.

While at the seminar Gerben spent some time with the girls at a park and swimming at the hotel. The took me to the park the next day and all I have to say about it is that it's the most beautiful, well kept, massive playground I have ever seen. The part that you will see in the photos is only about 1/5th of all the playground equipment. It was awesome.

Oh and just to clarify, I am not just 4 feet 5 inches, I am infact, 4 feet 11 AND A HALF inches tall! This scale is seriously wrong!

Hopefully, this is the start of me being able to keep up with my new endevour and this blog. I promise to try!
